ZF Devco and Jane Goodall Institute Complete Successful Mangrove Conservation Relocation in Zanzibar

ZF Devco, in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI), has successfully completed a major mangrove conservation relocation project in Zanzibar, marking a significant milestone in the protection and restoration of the island’s coastal ecosystems.

The completed initiative focused on the relocation and rehabilitation of mangrove forests impacted by development, ensuring the preservation of biodiversity and the resilience of local communities. Through a collaborative, science-based approach, the project engaged coastal residents, youth groups, and environmental stewards to plant and monitor thousands of mangroves in newly designated protected areas.

"Preserving mangroves is not only an ecological imperative but a social responsibility," said Matthew VanderBorgh, at ZF Devco, "and working alongside the Jane Goodall Institute allows us to amplify impact while honoring the unique environmental and cultural heritage of Zanzibar."

This completed effort reflects ZF Devco’s broader commitment to sustainable development that prioritizes ecological integrity and long-term environmental stewardship.
